  • 100% Real-Life, Screen-Free Fun: We swap tablets and TV screens for tangible, real-world experiences. Our 45-minute classes are packed with sensory exploration, crafts, song, dance, and Makaton sign language to engage little minds naturally.

  • A Lifeline of Local Community: Parenting can feel isolating, but you aren't alone here. We intentionally connect local families with children of the same age, helping you build a supportive social circle and lifelong friendships.

  • Support Beyond the Classroom: The adventure doesn’t end when the class finishes! You'll get access to our community newsletter, packed with helpful early-years tips, playful advice, and screen-free ideas to try at home.

WHAT STARTED STORY EXPLORERS?

"Story Explorers is something I have wanted to do for many years. I finally decided to take the leap and quit the regular dependable salary and start my own classes after my daughter was born and my dad passed away. Life is short! I knew that children's picture books are an absolute delight and wanted to use my experience and training to bring them to life and explore their possibilities! Books are the first steps for a child to learn about the world, emotions, relationships as well as language and sound. I make the classes fun and engaging for both child and supporting adult but secretly everything we do is educational and they are learning as soon as they enter the room.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN A CLASS ?

"We always start with a hello welcome song and then share our names. We do a little warm up using  a mixture of well known songs such as 'head, shoulders, knees and toes', 'If you're happy and you know it' and we sing our 'Funny Faces' song!

Everyone then grabs some binoculars as we look around the room for clues before guessing the story and then we read it together whilst we sit on the story mat.

Following the story we do a range of various linked activities which range from singing songs, dancing, exploring sensory trays, colouring/painting, tasting, playing, role play. I also incorporates Makaton/ baby sign language in some of the songs.

We always end with lots of bubbles whilst we dance with ribbons and shake our shakers before getting a well done sticker! "

Story Explorers also works with local businesses and provides one-off themed events and can deliver Story parties and available for festivals.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF STORY EXPLORERS ?

"Story Explorers is built on the EYFS framework to support your little ones to develop socially, personally and physically. Communication and Language drive what we do as these are key for this age group. Now more than ever your little ones need to mix with others so we encourage their social side with interactions with others!"
